BGS publishes scholarships for entry into Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth, and allows scholarship holders to apply separately for means-tested bursary support.

Bursaries

BGS offers means-tested bursary support from age 7+ (Year 3 onwards) to broaden access. Support can include help with travel, trips, uniform and equipment.

  • Year 3 onwards, including Senior School and Sixth Form.
  • Senior School and Sixth Form support can range from 10% to 100%; BGS Juniors support can reach up to 40%. In 2024–25, 169 pupils held bursary awards ranging from 5% to 100%.
  • Families submit an entrance application and registration fee first, then complete the online bursary application. Awards are considered on academic merit in the entrance assessments and family circumstances.
